Alfred Gusenbauer

Chancellor Gusenbauer canceled summer party

” I am not in the mood to celebrate”,- said Austria’s chancellor Alfred Gusenbauer. He had canceled his traditonal summer party.

All of the invitations were forwarded, but Gusenbaeur changed his mind and blew off the celebrations.
Last year this event was a full success.

One year later the situation is totally different. Gusenbauer seems to be at the low point of his political career. The party comrades are discussing his overthrow.

The Socialdemocratic party in Austria is in a big crisis, and their chancellor got the blame for it. Gusenbauer cannot hide his anger and disappointment about this situation. This makes it impossible for him to host a fancy celebration, and smile into cameras.

One million Austrian men are impotent

According to an article on the website of the Austrian Broadcasting, one million Austrian men are impotent

The only way to avoid impotence is to do a lot of sport, and in addition- to waste 4.000 calories every week.

Austrian men are known for their carelessness about their health. Potency could be a good motivation to care more about themselves, thinks urologist and the director of the research Christian Kratzik.

The basic risk factors for impotence are too little action, excessive weight, too much alcohol and too many cigarettes. Austrians are doing too little of sport. “We are a country of fat people”-, confirms the urologist.

Graz

Association of towns and municipalities demands a massive rise of the income for mayors and higher officials at municipal level. The KPOe is the only party that voted against such new model of budget distribution with a monthly salary increase for higher officials up to 1000 euros (!) in smaller districts. Also in bigger districts, the income of mayors would be significantly increased. The mayors of Muerzzuschlag, Judenburg, Leibnitz, Trofaiach and Weiz would receive 642.13 euros per month more (now 4172, 27.) In Knittelfeld, Deutschlandsberg, Voitsberg und Bruck an der Mur the mayors would get around 578.26. euros rise(currently 5215,34.-). In Leoben and Kapfenberg it was proposed to make rise till 523.94. The Knittelfelder KPOe parliament representative Renate Pacher expresses justified indignation on subject: “Ordinary citizens are pushed to idea they are not frugal enough and must be more inventive to make ends meet, but when it concerns politicians themselves, they seem to be extremely generous. The money comes from the municipal budget and then will be extracted from kindergarten or the street preservation funds.” (Graz KPOe website)
