Yesterday website “Disclosure” had 650 pageviews and 350 unique visitors. For me it was sad and minute popularity, as I was thinking about Jörg Haider and that he looked unhappy during the last months before this accident. Photo of Michael Häupl was made by me yesterday at Rathausplatz

Alexander Van der Bellen

alexander.jpg Alexander Van der Bellen, leader of the Greens, during final event of election campaign in Wien Museum at Karlsplatz

Considering technical aspects of photo, it is one of my lucky ones, as it was very pleasing white light in the conference hall, and being in topboots with high heels, I equipped myself only with lightest 50mm lens

Reporter work definitely does not add much to woman’s good looks and dignity, sometimes it is necessary in literal sense to crawl on the floor on your knees or even worse in front of big audience

I put on short skirt and stockings, and being in great hurry this morning, after taking shower I had put on not black, but red underwear, and when I squat in front of Van der Bellen I demonstrated perhaps too boldly to him today my political color favors.

Whenever I am looking at leader of Greens, expression of his face reminds me somebody, whom I knew very well in past times

Heinz-Christian Strache and Nazi Salute

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

asia.jpg Heinz-Christian Strache, who by education is a dental technician, has been active in local politics in Vienna since 1991.
Snapshots taken from a video in the late 80s were published in January 2007 showing a uniformed Strache participating in paramilitary training activities. Other people on the pictures were claimed to be known neo-nazis. Strache has denied that, claiming the pictures are of him playing Gotcha.
At the end of January, further pictures were published, showing Strache performing a Nazi salute (the Kühnen salute). Strache denied the allegations prior to publication of the pictures. After publication, Strache argued that the picture showed him ordering three beers and was not a Nazi salute.

Quotes about politics

Don’t fall in love with politicians, they’re all a disappointment. They can’t help it, they just are.

Peggy Noonan

It has now become the doctrine of a large class of politicians that political honesty is unnecessary and incompatible with quick onward movement.

Anthony Trollope

Politics is not a bad profession. If you succeed there are many rewards. If you disgrace yourself, you can always write a book. Ronald Reagan

Glance of Alfred Gusenbauer

Friday, August 29th, 2008

gusidoris.jpg It was election campaign event in Vienna Stadthalle, which attracted thousands of people who expressed their support for social democrats prime candidate Werner Faymann.
I talked to a few ordinary persons who enjoyed themselves in buffet of concert hall during the speech of Werner Faymann looking at the screen of big monitor with his face, and all of them described Faymann as nice lad, at the same time all of them aware of the fact that nobody must take election promises of social democrats at earnest. My confidants also noticed that a lot of money was invested in this election campaign for rivers of beer, wine, sandwiches and souvenirs with expectations that Austrians would give their voices for those who once generously let them to become drunk.
All photographers were seized with mass psychosis of depicting and pursuing Werner Faymann. At the same time many others not less interesting figures of Austrian social democracy didn’t get sufficient attention they deserved.
Those who stay out of the circle of crowd’s blind admiration often look much more interesting without their usual protecting mask.
Personally for me, Gusenbauer presents more inner power, than Werner Faymann. Perhaps because he has much more experience.

Zerstört Haider das Kärntner Gesundheitssystem?

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

Sowas Nachrichten

Jörg Haider

Haider was a long-time leader of the Austrian Freedom Party (FPÖ). When he stepped down as party’s chairman in 2000, he remained its major figure until 2005. In April 2005 he founded a new party, the “Alliance for the Future of Austria” (BZÖ-Bündnis Zukunft Österreich)

Joerg Haider was born in 1950 in Bad Goisern, Upper Austria. His father Robert Haider worked as a shoemaker, his mother Dorothea Rupp was a teacher.

Both parents were active members of the Nazi Party. Robert Haider joined the ‘Hitler Jugend’ when he was fifteen. In 1933, after Nazi organisations were banned in Austria, he participated in several illegal actions. In 1934 he took part in the failed nazi putsch and was forced to flee to Bavaria, where he joined the nazi party. (more…)

Jörg Haider

kaserne.jpg Today I visited press conference with Joerg Haider and Peter Westenthaler in BZOe quarters. For a long time already, I wished I could photograph Joerg Haider. His speech was rather short though. As I was not satisfied with regular shots I made, which looked rather boring, similar to millions of other press snaps, I prefer to transform them including tiny part of my personality in every picture.

und Landeshauptmann Jörg Haider. Thema: “Aktuelles zur Nationalratswahl”
